Every March 9, Saint Frances Romana is celebrated, one of the extraordinary Italian saints who was blessed with a series of extraordinary gifts and who on one occasion even saw hell, purgatory and heaven in the company of Saint Raphael the Archangel.
These and other stories from his life are told in the book Saint Francis Romana and her Archangel of Father Ángel Peña. Collecting some testimonies from her canonization process, it is described that Father Juan Mattiotti, the saint’s confessor, said that she “was taken in spirit to hell.”
Upon entering, Francisca saw a terrible abyss and signs with warnings that said: “This is hell without hope and where there is never any consolation.”
