The Via Crucis of women: book narrates what those who accompanied Jesus in his Passion experienced

It was praying before the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, which she had reached on foot from Spain, when Carlota knew she had to write a book that narrated what the women who accompanied Jesus to Calvary felt.

“The Via Crucis of Women” is the result of that experience that marked her life forever, a book that places the reader in the shoes of women who did not abandon Christ during the Passion, like the Virgin or Mary Magdalene.

During the presentation of the book in the Spanish capital with the journalist Anne Igartiburu, Carlota recalled that “those who remain with Jesus are the women” and that on her way to the Holy Land she was able to “feel in her heart how the Virgin or Mary Magdalene lived. ”.

“When I arrived I entered through the door of the Via Dolorosa and passed by where Jesus passed. “I cried so much, after spending a whole week thinking about the crucifixion,” he said.

For the young woman, who in recent years has shared her faith through social networks and is one of those responsible for the project “make a mess”, the initiative that aims to show the true beauty of the Church, “the hearts of those women beat very strongly, especially with courage and fidelity.”

Carlota also recalled that before her pilgrimage she had “a life full of things, she was as if anesthetized.” On her journey, which lasted about a year, she made “space for the Lord and I realized things that I did not perceive before. I also left room for silence and contemplation.”

Her main source for the preparation of the book has been the sacred scriptures and texts of other women such as Ana Catalina Emmerick, the mystic who came to experience the stigmata of Christ and who in the last years of her life was nourished only by the Eucharist.

Carlota highlighted that Jesus “surrounded himself with women and had significant gestures with them; he put them in first place.” Therefore, she assured that his responsibility is to give them a voice and that readers can “ask themselves what their own calling is.”

“The Risen Jesus appeared to a woman and asked her to tell others. That’s what we should do. We know the Risen Christ and we have to tell it,” she stressed.

“I would like this book to speak to each one of you as a participant in the Passion, to place you in the streets of Jerusalem to be able to meet the holy women,” he highlighted.
