Pagani Automobiles, the company founded by Argentine Horacio Pagani, is one of the most admired among supercar manufacturers. His models are a work of engineering art and a world reference in performance. It is normal that, in some way or another, she tries to be imitated.
A group of Vietnamese have taken that idea very seriously and built their own Pagani Huayra using hammer blows, clay molds and extremely high ingenuity. And we must admit that the result obtained does not look so bad.
The Huayra is the second model created by Pagani, after the Zonda. The original version was presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show and was impressive due to its shapes and the use of composite materials for its manufacture. In addition, a 6.0-liter AMG V12 engine with powers of 730 to 850 HP and debuted an unprecedented variable aerodynamics system.
The interesting thing about this project, published on the NHẾT TV YouTube channel, is that except for the engine and a few components, which came from a rather battered Daewoo Quiero, the rest of the elements were designed and handcrafted by this group of enthusiasts.
It is not the first time that these Vietnamese have built a replica of a supercar. In the past they have already made their versions of Ferrari or Bugatti always using the same methods. This last one, even They decorated it paying tribute to Lionel Messiwith a body with the colors of Argentina and the number 10 on the doors.
Clay, hammer and a lot of ingenuity
The other fact that never ceases to surprise is that It only took 500 days to get the car ready, a true feat considering the limited resources evidenced in the video.
It all starts with the construction of the chassis, which in this case is quite far from the carbo-titanium monocoque used by the Argentine builder based in Italy, the world’s leading reference in the use of composite materials, by the way.
The Vietnamese Huayra has a clever structure of cut and hand-welded steel pipes. This is also how the four-wheel independent suspension scheme and double wishbone at the front. The Daewoo’s engine was placed in the center of the vehicle, just in front of the rear axle.

A group of enthusiasts decided to pay tribute to the Argentine builder Horacio Pagani with a surprising artisanal creation
The headlights and taillights are also handmade and a complete exhaust system was designed to reproduce in the rear sector the four unmistakable Pagani exits in the center of the vehicle.
The method used to build the body and a good part of the interior parts is particular but very efficient and surely much cheaper, since They start from a clay moldingvery similar to the use of clay in large design centers.
On these matrices, the pieces are molded with fiber and plastic, which are then treated separately so that they have a good finish. The same is done with the interior, although most of the functions and elements are simulated and are not functional.
In any case, the work done by this group is to be applauded. And it is good to wonder how far they could go with advanced elements and tools. The complete video of the construction can be seen here.
