The match of Premier League between Bournemouth and the Luton Townin which the visiting captain Tom Lockyer suffered a heart attackse will repeat completely. England’s main tournament confirmed this Wednesday that the duel, which was suspended in the 59th minute when it was 1-1, will be played “later during the season” and that the date will be announced after consulting the two clubs.
According to the Premier, the decision to cancel the match held last Saturday was “collective” between the referees, players and coaches of both Bournemouth and Luton.
“The Premier would like to thank the medical teams and all those involved for their swift actions in this incident. We wish Tom a continued recovery and all our thoughts are with him, his family and all the people at Luton Town.”he explained in a statement.
Lockyer, who had already suffered a cardiac episode last June in the final of the Playoff for promotion to the First Division, was transferred to a hospital on Saturday, where he was found “alert and responding”, surrounded by his family.
Luton’s last statement was on Sunday, when they assured that Lockyer was continuing to undergo “test and analysis”, awaiting the results before knowing the next steps for his recovery.
