It is a preventive measure for a sector of the park where floods have the greatest impact.

That is why it is important to clarify that for now the rest of the circuits can be visited normally. Entrance to the Park for Argentines costs $10,000 and children under 5 years old and retirees enter for free.

What the statement says

The official information sent by National Parks says:

The reopening of the Devil’s Throat Circuit is postponed

The intense rains of the last few hours in southern Brazil forced the dams in the area to release the flow of the reservoirs, an action that significantly impacts the level of the Iguazú River.

As a preventive measure, in accordance with the usual action protocols for these natural events, the railings on the balcony and walkways have already been removed; and constant monitoring is being carried out to determine the level of the flood.

In this hydrological scenario, it prevents the reopening of the Devil’s Throat Circuit, which was scheduled for this Saturday, July 13 at 8, in order to avoid any risk to which visitors may have been exposed.

And they assure that they will keep information on the status of the situation updated. Those who have vacations scheduled in this area should be attentive.

With the holidays on the horizon

Access to the Devil’s Throat Circuit consists of 1,100 meters of walkways that are located on the upper part of the Iguazú River and bring visitors to the edge of the park’s main waterfall.

After the destruction due to last year’s flood, the rest of the park continued to function normally -Visitor Center, Lower and Upper circuits-, at the same time that they began to carry out repair tasks of the facilities, with verification by the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), which reviewed the safety and quality of the reconstruction of the walkways.
