The new Peugeot 208 is now on sale: versions and prices

Peugeot launched the sale of the new Peugeot 208the national compact that updated its design, its range of versions and introduced a new engine-box assembly.

With more than 100,000 units sold and more than 200,000 units produced at the El Palomar plant since its debut in 2020, the renewed compact is currently the second best-selling model on the market behind the Fiat Cronos.

The range is made up of three versions (Active, Allure and GT) and six equipment options, whose prices range from $21,662,200 up to $29,078,500.

Compared to its predecessor, the new 208 range eliminated the entry-level variant New Likewhile the Feline (full) was renamed GT. For their part, the intermediate versions maintained the nomenclature Allure .

For its marketing, the brand offers financing up to $5,500,000 with a 0% rate for 12 months and a UVA option, also for 12 months and a 0% rate, with a maximum amount of $18,000,000.

It also has different savings plan options applicable to the Allure variant with manual or automatic transmission: one is the 80/20 Plus Plan 84 months with 80/20 modality with agreed allocation in quota 3, 6 and 12 with the contribution of an extraordinary rate (30%). The value of the current subscription fee is $213,442.22.

The other is the Easy’24 Plan 120 months with 70/30 modality with agreed allocation in quota 12 with the contribution of an extraordinary rate (30%). In this case, the value of the current subscription fee is $116,535.85.

Aesthetically, the model adopts the appearance of its European counterpart. The most important changes are in the front part where it has new headlights, grille (larger and with the new brand logo), bumpers and LED daytime running lights; now in triplicate.

On the mechanical side, the novelty is the introduction of the T200 engine that is already used in other models of the Stellantis group such as the Fiat Pulse and the Citroën C3 Aircross.

It is the 120-horsepower, three-cylinder, 1.0 turbo gasoline engine that is associated with a new 7-speed CVT (continuous ratio) automatic transmission.

At the same time, the range maintains the already known 1.6 with 115 horsepower that can be accompanied by a fifth-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic.

As we said, the new Peugeot 208 is offered in three versions and six equipment options that we detail below:

The entry-level version eliminated the 82 HP 1.2-liter gasoline engine, replacing it with the well-known 115 HP 1.6. The transmission remains a five-speed manual.

It is equipped as standard with four airbags (front and front sides), hill start assist, manual climate control and 15″ steel wheels, with cups. Price: $ 21.662.200.

It has the same 1.6-liter 115 HP gasoline engine, which can be combined with the fifth-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission (torque converter).

In terms of equipment, it includes digital climate control, 2D digital instrument panel, 10-inch multimedia screen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, rear parking sensors, rear view camera, 16-inch alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights. Prices: $ 24.137.800 (manual) and $ 25.375.600 (automatic).

This variant allows you to choose between two engines: the 1.6 with 115 HP (with fifth gear manual transmission) or the three-cylinder 1.0 turbo with 120 HP and 200 Nm of torque, combined with a CVT-type automatic transmission.

Regarding the mentioned equipment, it includes curtain airbags, combined leather and fabric upholstery, panoramic roof, wireless cell phone charger and 16-inch diamond wheels. Prices: $ 27.450.000 (1.6 liter engine) and $ 28.298.900 (motor turbo).

The top-of-the-range version only offers the T200 engine and as a novelty includes driving assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, collision warning device and lane keeping assistant.

In addition, 3D digital instrument panel, leather upholstery, full LED headlights, rear spoiler and 17-inch wheels. Price: $29.078.500.
