“For this long weekend that is approaching, we observe that the demand for domestic destinations grew by 52% vs. the average of the last four weeks,” says Alejandro Festa, manager of Accommodations and Tourist Services at the Despegar agency.
For them, the most chosen destinations are Buenos Aires in first place, followed by Mendoza, Bariloche, Iguazú and Ushuaia.
On Booking, the accommodation reservation platform, the most booked local destinations between December 7 and 10, 2023 coincide exactly in the place that leads the ranking: Buenos Aires.
They are followed by Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Bariloche and Córdoba.
“We believe it will be a great long weekend in terms of tourism. We had high demand. The main destinations chosen were Salta, Iguazú and Bariloche. And we are already moving forward with reservations for Christmas and New Year,” says Martín Romano, CEO of Atrápalo Argentina.
In the app and on the Alohar temporary accommodation platform (allows you to pay in pesos and in installments) beach destinations stand out.
“It is very in line with what happened during all the long weekends of 2022 and 2023: regardless of the time of year, beach destinations are the favorites of Argentines for a getaway,” says Fernando Unzué, CEO and co-founder of Alohar, which also registers great growth in other destinations such as Mendoza, Bariloche and Córdoba.
Among user preferences, Unzué highlights reservations for 2- and 3-room apartments, as well as houses “and, to a lesser extent but on the rise, glamping sites.”
