There the distances between Peronism and Catholicism were reaffirmed.”

In fact, the Catholic Church endorsed a bill with which it was aimed at prohibiting spiritualist practices. Its author was the deputy and Catholic priest Virgilio Filippo, fervent Peronist.

“Among the dangers that currently stalk our faithful, with risks for their Christian life and even for their very faith, there is a doubly serious and insidious one: it is what everyone commonly calls ‘spiritism’. That is why we have pointed to spiritualism as doubly serious and insidious danger, since it involves two vain and pernicious attempts: The first is to evoke the dead and spirits, looking for intercommunication with them, systematically and arbitrarily caused in meetings for that purpose, ”reads a statement signed by the General Secretariat of Catholic Defense, under the Episcopate.

Another of the mediums close to Perón was the italo-Brazilian Menotti Carnicelli, or Brother Anael, who was received at the Casa Rosada. Then he arrived in Perón, with whom he made a good relationship. Until Eva sent him to throw him. Death in 1952, Luck internated again in Peronism, but after the coup d’etat of the ’55 she was another of those who fell out of favor because she was a Peronist. “I do not know why, but the link between religions and politics has not been investigated enough,” laments Parra. “Things changed a lot.
