In July 2021, after the historic three-day marches in several cities in Cuba, the MCL launched a campaign of concrete actions of isolation to the communist regime and in solidarity with the population.
“Concrete measures of international isolation are also needed, such as national laws and the sanctions of international organizations applied at the time to the segregationist regime of South Africa,” he indicated in his statement at the time.
These actions range from declaring the Communist Party of Cuba and the Young Communist League “as segregationist and repressive organizations”, investigating human rights violations on the island, to applying economic measures and suspending the participation of the communist regime in international forums.
“We Cubans need the solidarity and support of the world, and we need it now. We call on the international community to position itself on the side of the Cuban people, and not of the political-military junta that oppresses them,” he expressed.
