The low season comes with promotions in the Argentine travel sector.
To the proposals that had been known about some specific proposals of the Airlines (quotas or discounts) and some destinations (such as the Barichecks of Bariloche) now add the promotions that the government has just announced together with the private tourism sector.
The proposal announced by the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, and the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli, includes reduction in prices for tickets, accommodation and feesamong other incentives that aim to boost activity activity the months before the winter holidays.

During the meeting, which took place at Government House, together with representatives of the chambers and associations of the tourism sector, a 30 percent discount on long distance ticketsdiscounts 20 percent on hotel ratespackages to travel around the country in installments with bank financing and also 7×6 style promotions (pay 6, get 7) in ski passes.
Francos highlighted “the President’s political decision” for the tourism sector, which he defined as “one of the driving forces of the economy.”

For his part, Scioli said: “This call is the response to what we have proposed regarding the joint effort.”
He also said: “I feel like the Government is doing its thing, and now we have to do the effort to readjust to the low season with a program together with the Chamber of Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism so that packages can be purchased, even with support from public and private banks.”
Among the officials present, there was also the Undersecretary of Tourism, Yanina Martínez, who in turn spoke about the Argentina Emerge Program: “We are going to promote tourism with discounts and offers through promotion and positioning campaigns, which are added to programs that favor tourist movement and the enhancement of our attractions.”

During the meeting at Government House, the tourism sector was represented by

- the Argentine Federation of Travel and Tourism Business Associations;
- the Argentine Association of Organizers and Suppliers of Exhibitions, Congresses, Events and Convention Bureaus;
- the Argentine Timeshare Chamber;
- the Association of Tourism Hotels of the Argentine Republic;
- the Association of Language Centers;
- Destination Argentina;
- the Argentine Ski and Mountain Chamber (Juan Pablo Padial);
- the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Confectioneries and Cafes;
- the Long Distance Bus Business Chamber;
- the Federation of Chambers of Tourism of the Argentine Republic;
- the Argentine Chamber of Parks, Attractions, Entertainment and Related;
- and directors of the Hunting Tourism and Conservationism chambers.
On the other hand, Minister Francos highlighted “the President’s political decision” for this sector, considered “one of the drivers of the economy”.
And he pointed out that work is being done to increase “the opening of the heavens” and in “deepen credit destined for the sector”.
