The following steps on the Leo XIV agenda

Leo XIV will share dinner tonight with the 132 cardinals who have chosen him as Pedro’s successor in the Santa Marta house, the residence in the Vatican where they have stayed during the conclave and where, for the moment, his luggage also remains.

Everything indicates that Pedro’s new successor will spend his first night as a pontiff, as his predecessors also did, waiting to decide if he moved to the traditional papal apartment of the Apostolic Palace or choose a different residence.

With the end of the conclave, the Vatican has restored mobile communications and the Internet within its walls, so the new Pope could already, if he wishes, communicate with the outside.

In the next few days, Leo XIV must make symbolically relevant decisions: choose your motto and papal shield, define your team of immediate collaborators and, not least, set the place from which you want to exercise your ministry.

As announced by the director of the Vatican Press Office, Matteo Bruni, his first liturgical commitment as a pontiff will take place tomorrow Friday, at 11 in the morning. Leo XIV will celebrate a Mass in the Sistine Chapel next to the cardinals and read his first homily after the Karol.

In addition, on Monday morning, Pope Leo XIV will receive the media in a audience, in a traditional appointment that will allow accredited journalists to know closely the communicative style of the new Pope and capture the first gestures of his relationship with the world.
