The Bishop of Córdoba (Spain), Bishop Demetrio Fernández, offers a key that Christians must take into account to defeat the demon that continues to tempt us in our days and involves “submitting to the will of God.”
In relation to the Gospel that is proclaimed this Sunday, in which Jesus confronts the devil, Bishop Fernández points out in his last weekly letter that to nullify the action of the enemy, “the attitude of the Christian believer is to submit to the will of God, which is expressed in different ways.”
Thus, God’s desire for our lives can be expressed “in the advice of a good friend, in the spiritual direction of a priest, in the continuous recourse to prayer that feeds the spirit of faith.”
