Jose Torres Gil, the evil onegave Argentina its first great joy in the Paris Olympic Games by winning the gold medal in BMX. This achievement filled the country with pride and marked the beginning of a successful Argentine participation, which was expanded days later with the silver medal in sailing obtained by Eugenia Bosco and Mateo Majdalani.
Torres Gil and Bosco were officially confirmed as the standard bearers of the Argentine delegation in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in the French capital.
Torres Gil himself had already shared his enthusiasm on his Instagram account, where he expressed: “It’s time to return to Paris. I am honored and happy to be the flag bearer of our delegation. Thank you to the people, the Argentine athletes, my team, my family, my sponsors”.
“It is an honor and a privilege to raise the Argentine flag”he added.
At the opening ceremony, those in charge of carrying the flag had been Luciano De Cecco, captain of the Argentine volleyball team, and Rocío Sánchez Mocchia, captain of Las Leonas, who took the bronze, the third and last Argentine medal of these Olympics.
