The Catholic Church in Argentina entrusted the Virgin of Luján the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV, initiated this Sunday, May 18, through a video message of its president, Mons. Marcelo Colombo.
“My dear brothers, this Sunday, May 18, the entire Church lives the great event of the beginning of Pope León Pastoral Ministry. With each family, with each community, with each town,” said the archbishop of Mendoza, in the name of all the bishops of Argentina.

“We are glad in Argentina to testify to this call from God to live a new stage with all the intensity of the first communities,” added the prelate Mendoza.
Mons. Colombo also stressed that Argentine Catholics receive “with enthusiasm, with gratitude to God the Ministry of Pope Leo XIV and we entrust our Mother the Virgin.”
“That she, who in her day saw him be chosen as a shepherd of the whole Church, shelters it with her mantle and for all on behalf of the Argentine Church, send us the blessing of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen,” concluded the prelate.
