The Mexican Episcopate Conference (CEM) made a special call to the country’s youth to participate in the jubilee of young people between July 28 and August 3, highlighting that it will be held “also here in Mexico”.
In a video message, Mons. Héctor Mario Pérez Villarreal, auxiliary bishop of Mexico and general secretary of the CEM, directed the message “to you that you believe, but you have moved away from Christ. You do not believe, but you do pray. You dream that you dream, but you do not find the paths to realize. You walk with hope, but very often you are confused.”

“Yes, to you, young, you have fire in your heart. Today we want to invite you not to give up your dreams,” he said.
The Mexican prelate directed their message to each young man: “Your dreams make you live, drive your decisions and fill you with happiness. That is why you do not give up your dreams, but make sure you put your hope to fulfill it. That’s right, hope is that inner voice that continues to motivate you to live and dream.”
“Hope is that light at the end of the tunnel that assures you that you can continue walking. That hope is not one thing, it is not money, success or fame, much less will be drug or violence. This hope is someone, it is Jesus,” he said.
Christ continued, “it is the hope that does not disappoint and that is why we invite you to open your heart to Christ, precisely to celebrate that the hope of young people is put in Jesus.”
What is the jubilee of young people?
The jubilee of young people is one of the jubilee days convened by the Pope in the framework of the Jubilee Year of Esperanza, and hopes to congregate hundreds of thousands of young people around the world in Rome. According to the Official Guide released by the Vaticanvarious activities are planned in Rome during those days, including “cultural, artistic and spiritual activities.”
On July 29, a welcome mass will be held in the Plaza de San Pedro, and on Friday, August 1, there will be a penitential day in the Maximum Circus of Rome.
After a “moment of entertainment with music and testimonies”, young people will participate in the prayer vigil with Pope Leo XIV in Tor Vergata. The next day, to conclude the jubilee of the young, the Holy Father will preside over the Mass in Tor Vergata.
“Also here in Mexico we will celebrate” the jubilee of young people
Mons. Pérez Villarreal invited the young Mexicans “to participate in the Jubileo de la Esperanza from July 28 to August 3,” and stressed that “young people from all over the world will meet in Rome to renew their hope together with the Pope.”
“Let’s pray for them so that they really open their hearts to Christ,” he encouraged, and then stressed that “also here in Mexico we will celebrate in many parishes throughout the national territory the jubilee of young people.”
“Approach your parish, seek the group of young people and celebrate together that Christ is our hope, our only and true hope,” he encouraged, and concluded: “Participate and build together the hope that Christ has offered us.”
