The animated film “Jesus light of the world” arrives in Spain this weekend

The animated film “Jesus light of the world” premieres in Spain this weekend in 120 salas from all over the country to bring the viewer closer to the life of Christ at the hands of the apostle Saint John.

The film produced in the United States, directed by Jhon Schafer and Tom Bancroft, recovers the hand-drawn technique and covers the public life of Jesus of Nazareth.

Throughout the film, the main evangelical events are narrated such as the miraculous fishing, the healing of the paralytic brought to Jesus by his friends through the roof, the healing of the centurion’s servant, the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the Passion of Jesus Christ and his resurrection.

According to the distributor European Dreams Factory, more than 400 people worked on the making of the film, “of which more than 75% did not profess a specific faith.” This has not been an obstacle, they argue, for the film to achieve “a balance between respect for evangelical stories and universal appeal.”

Jhon Schafer hopes that audiences will identify with the close relationship between John and Jesus: “I want viewers to fall in love with the character of John and identify with the friendship he develops with Jesus, inspiring them to seek a similar relationship.”

“For believers, it is an excellent tool to start conversations about the Gospel with family and friends who do not profess faith, allowing the film to speak for itself,” adds the director, who considers that it is “a fun, entertaining and moving film, comparable to what Disney would have made in the nineties about the life of Jesus.”
