Spanish diocese will baptize adults from Venezuela, Peru or Congo by Easter

A group of 33 adults, some of them from countries such as Venezuela, Peru, Congo, Morocco or Germany, will receive baptism in the Diocese of Getafe (Spain), during the celebration of the Pascual vigil.

The catechumen will receive the baptismal waters in two ceremonies presided by Mons. Ginés García Beltrán, in the Cathedral of Santa María Magdalena and for its assistant, Mons. José María Avendaño, in the basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Those who are close to receiving the first of the sacraments of Christian initiation are between 17 and 66 years old and have been preparing thanks to the help of catechists and priests following the ritual of Christian initiation of adults.

Among the catechumens, from various locations belonging to the diocese located to the south of Madrid, Irene Casado, professor at the Arenales de Arroyomolinos school, a center with a Catholic ideology.

Then, at university and at work, some classmates helped me integrate more into the community. In addition, other people have shown me how good it is to have God present in everyday life. I have found a peace and a joy that I didn’t have before.”

“I wanted to be his, not only desire, so I decided to inform myself to be baptized,” explains Lorena Milan, another of the people who will receive baptism next Saturday. Therefore, it started a training path that has spread for a year and a half.

“All this time has been intense and beautiful, I have learned, I have met God in depth and I can say that I never want to get away from Him. Thanks to him, I am happy,” he describes.
