More than 400 Missionary Childhood projects in 137 dioceses in 44 countries were financed thanks to the generosity of Spanish children, who, with more than 2 million euros (€2,325,255.17), lead the list of contributions by country this cause.
According to data provided by the Pontifical Mission Societies, throughout 2023, with the proceeds collected in 2022, almost 390,000 children in Africa, Asia, America and Europe could benefit.
This money has been used to build and equip schools, boarding schools, orphanages and child care centers (26.3%), to finance life and health protection initiatives (22.8%), to allow access to education (22.3%) to support ordinary pastoral care and promote the children’s missionary spirit (17.2%) and Catholic formation (11.4%).
