The Episcopal spokesman also recalled that the president of the EEC, Mons. Luis Argüello, presented this same position after meeting with the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, at the end of January this year.
This meeting was motivated by the presentation of an administrative complaint against seven dioceses for the alleged application of the so -called “conversion therapies”, a term that the president of the CEE described as imprecise, perhaps excessively broad and not scientific. “
“We make proposals for spiritual accompaniment … accompany people in their situation, whatever it is, and in strict respect for freedom and the will of people” that, he stressed “must be bidirectional,” said Mons. García Magán.
Asked why CEE understands by “affirmative therapy”, the prelate added: “Before the doubt, given the perplexity or the question that a person can be asked, that the only option that is given is a preconceived and that is unidirectional”, without giving option to those who, freely, opt for a way of life according to the integral sexuality proposed by the Catholic doctrine.
