The Bishop of Córdoba (Spain), Mons. Demetrio Fernández, reflects in his weekly letter on the Gospel passage in which Jesus expels the merchants from the temple and affirms that in Him, “anger is moved by charity, it is holy anger.” , and that anger is necessary to face great difficulties that we encounter in life.”
The prelate points out that “it is not easy to explain” this evangelical pericope, since, by recognizing ourselves as sinners, we consider that “every manifestation of anger and even more so if it is expressed violently, as in this case, is something abominable, it is something inappropriate for man.” , it is sin”.
However, he encourages us to “change our criteria” on the idea that to be a Christian we must “reduce the impulse, the courage, the enthusiasm, the anger, to become low-intensity pacifists.”
