The Christian Lawyers Foundation has filed a criminal complaint for serious imprudence and administrative prevarication against the Minister of Health of Spain, Mónica García, for denying the consequences of abortion.
García recently stated that “post-abortion syndrome does not exist” and described it as a “hoax”, which is why the organization of jurists considers that the minister could have incurred a crime against public health due to serious imprudence, as well as a crime of administrative prevarication.

For Christian Lawyers, omitting the risks of abortion “violates the duty of truthful information on health matters and exposes women to uninformed decisions that can harm their health,” as they explained in a statement sent to the media this Tuesday, October 14.
García made these statements at the presentation of a website supported by the Government that makes information favorable to induced abortion available to women.
Faced with these initiatives, pro-life organizations promoted the website quierosermadre.orgwhich offers information to help pregnant women at risk of abortion.
In the complaint presented to the Prosecutor’s Office against the minister, several scientific reports are cited “that confirm the physical and psychological consequences of abortion in women”, and includes a ruling from the Provincial Court of Oviedo, later confirmed by the Supreme Court, which condemns the association of abortion centers (ACAI) for misleading advertising by hiding the possible consequences.
Among the conclusions of the studies provided are that “women who have had an abortion experienced an 81% higher risk of mental health problems” and that “the suicide rate after an abortion was three times higher than the general suicide rate and six times higher than that after birth.”
Likewise, it warns that “women who had abortions had a twice higher risk of hospital admissions for mental disorders (depression, anxiety, substance abuse) in the subsequent 5 years, especially in those under 25 years of age,” among other consequences.
The president of Abogados Cristiano, Poland Castellanos, considered that “abortion is an intervention with numerous risks and consequences for women. Denying this reality and not informing women is illegal, because it seriously endangers their health and represents unacceptable coercion.”
“This misinformation only benefits abortion businessmen, among whom there are members of the PSOE, who prioritize their economic interests over the rights and integrity of women,” he added.
