For the Pontiff, “this is also important, because to welcome the great gifts of God it is essential to treasure the most everyday and least striking ones.”
He pointed out that, through “daily fidelity to goodness, the Virgin allowed the gift of God to grow in her; In this way, she trained herself to respond to the Lord, to say ‘yes’ with all her life.”
He then asked the faithful some questions to reflect on: “Do I think that what is important, both in everyday situations and on the spiritual path, is fidelity to God? And, if I believe it, do I find time to read the Gospel, to pray, to participate in the Eucharist and receive sacramental Forgiveness, to make some concrete gesture of free service?
The Holy Father stressed that these are “decisive small options to welcome the presence of the Lord” while asking to pray that Mary Immaculate “helps us to be amazed by the gifts of God and to respond to them with faithful generosity every day.”
