The Archdiocese of Seville will host the I National Assembly of the Honor Guards of the Heart of Jesus in Spain under the motto “From heart to heart”, in the context of the 350th anniversary of the apparitions to Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque.
The event will take place from October 24 to 26 at the house of spirituality near the Monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus located in the town of San Juan de Aznalfarache and will conclude with a Eucharist in the Cathedral of the Seville capital presided over by the Archbishop of Seville, Mons. José Ángel Saiz Meneses.

“It will be a moment of great blessing and spiritual growth for all of us, where we will be able to deepen our faith and strengthen our union as members of the Honor Guard and as devotees of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,” its organizers express in the promotional materials.
The Honor Guard of the Sacred Heart was born in the Monastery of the Visitation of Saint Mary of Bourg in Bresse (France), in 1863, with the objective of “rendering worship, continuous and without interruption, of glory, love and reparation to the Wounded Heart of Jesus”, imitating the presence at the foot of the Cross of the Virgin Mary, the Apostle Saint John and Saint Mary Magdalene.
The assembly will be attended by the dean of the San Isidoro Faculty of Theology of Seville, Manuel Palma Ramírez, who will speak on “The human heart in the history of thought.”
For his part, Pablo Antonio Díez Herrera, doctor in Biblical Theology, will offer the presentation “Biblical Tradition of the Heart of Jesus”, while José Manuel Martínez Guisasola, doctor in Theology, will propose the lesson “Challenge for the Christian of the Sacred Heart of Jesus”.
Doctor of Medicine and psychiatrist Carlos Chiclana will provide a novel approach with his presentation “The Heart of Jesus as a source of mental health.”
In addition to the training conferences, those attending the meeting will be able to appreciate the testimony of several people, including the Sevillian singer-songwriter Casto Domínguez, a father and cancer survivor, and the sculptor Javier Viver, sculptor of the largest Sacred Heart project in the world, among others.
