A tribute
In December 2024, it will be 15 years since the death of Alberto Lysy, an internationally renowned Argentine violinist and conductor, who marked the development of the country’s musical culture. He also founded the Camerata Bariloche.
To celebrate his work, the Lysy Ensemble will participate in the festival, coordinated by the cellist Antonio Lysy (son of Alberto), with the collaboration of the Association Rencontres Musicales Camerata Lysy, with four exceptional programs that pay tribute to his legacy and what he enjoyed most: performing for the public, transmitting his knowledge to young instrumentalists and promoting standards of excellence in musical performance.
New project
Bring music to young people and the community has always been part of the objectives of the Seven Lakes Philharmonic Association.
In addition to working with the Sonidos de Huemul seed orchestra and the Siete Lagos Camerata – during the festival young musicians have the opportunity to interact with great masters – this year the Siete Lagos Music Academy will carry out for the first time the Seven Lakes Coral project, an activity open to residents or those who are in the area on vacation. The proposal requires registration, but it is not a requirement to have previous choral experience.
Under the direction of Teresa Usandivarasa Latin American choral repertoire will be worked on “From Baroque to Our Days: Latin American Music of Yesterday and Today.”
There will be three rehearsals, one of them followed by a picnic with the musicians participating in the festival.
Finally, on January 26, in Villa La Angostura, the Coral of the Seven Lakes will present the repertoire at the closing concert of the Festivalwith the accompaniment of the Festival’s concert artists and the members of the orchestral formations.
