Saint of the day December 9: Saint Narcisa de Jesús. Catholic Saints

Narcisa died on December 8, 1869, the day of the Immaculate Conception, due to fever. After her death, it was revealed that the young girl had made a private vow of perpetual virginity, poverty and obedience.

“The last will be first” (Mt 20, 16)

The saint had lived years of intense prayer, in a spirit of cloister, with continuous fasting, daily communion and closeness to the other sacraments. Her testimonies about her warm treatment, sweetness and simplicity were more than numerous.

Those who had the opportunity to know her or share with her always found an incentive to look at the sky and hope for the best. She died at only 37 years old, in 1869. By 1955, her remains would be transferred back to Guayaquil and today they are in Nobol, her hometown.
