In this way, the Catechism recalls, Mary Assumado has been made a living sign of the fulfilled promise, in advance and encouragement for those who wait in God.
For this reason Saint Maryassumed to the heavens, must always be celebrated. Believing that she was elevated by the hands of the angels to heaven is already a response to the invitation that God makes, from all eternity, to participate in his intimate life. It is necessary, consequently, to pay attention to the importance of Mary within the plan of salvation and to accept her truth (Marian dogma). The Mother elevated to the heights, next to the Trinity, allows us to glimpse the great goal to which every Christian aspires.

God in his infinite benevolence
“The Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, having completed the course of her earthly life, was taken body and soul to heavenly glory.”
These lines belong to the Apostolic ConstitutionThe most bountiful God” (Benevolent God), with which Pope Pius XII proclaimed the dogma of the Assumption of Mary on November 1, 1950. Since then, every August 15, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Throughout its history, the Catholic Church has proclaimed four Marian dogmas: Mary is Mother of God (Divine Motherhood), Mary is always Virgin (Perpetual Virginity), Mary was preserved from original sin (Immaculate Conception) and Mary was assumed into the heavens (Assumption of Mary).

Saint John Paul II, when referring to the dogma of the Assumption in 1997, noted the following: “Indeed, while for other men the resurrection of the body will take place at the end of the world, for Mary the glorification of her body was anticipated by singular privilege”.
Later, Benedict XVI, in 2011, stated: “Mary, the ark of the covenant that is in the sanctuary of heaven, indicates to us with luminous clarity that we are on the path towards our true Home, the communion of joy and peace with God.” .
Finally, Pope Francis in 2013, referring to the act by which Mary left this passing world to inhabit the Father’s House, recalled that “this does not mean that (She) is far away, that she is separated from us; Mary, on the contrary, accompanies us, fights with us, she supports Christians in the fight against the forces of evil.”
