Every August 31, the Church reminds Dos Santos belonging to the surroundings of Jesus: San José de Arimea and San Nicodemus.
Both were disciples of Christ and active members of the Sanhedrin who judged and condemned the teacher to death. And although both José and Nicodemus disagreed with the process that was carried out, they could not do anything to change the decision of their contests.

San Nicodemus
Nicodemus was the protagonist, with Jesus, of one of the most beautiful passages of writing referring to the meaning of the conversion of the heart, or, if you want, dedicated to the greatness of what God can do in the life of the one who wants to be transformed.
The beauty and meaning of the conversation – located in Chapter 3 of the Gospel of St. John – revolve around the idea of conversion as a “born again”, so it prefigures what baptism is.
In Chapter 7, Nicodemus is the voice that questions the Pharisees full of envy that want to precipitate the death of Jesus at all costs: “Does our law allow a man to judge without listening to him before to know what he did?” (Jn 7.51).
José de Arimea
On the other hand, Joseph of Arimea was the one who, when Christ lay dead on the cross, asked Pilate to give him the body of the Lord to give him a dignified burial.
Then, San José gave the new sepulcher and San Nicodemus delivered the essences to embalm the body of Jesus.
Disciples in secret
It is true that these two saints were disciples of Christ in secret. However, they did not hesitate to express how much they loved the Lord in the difficult moments after his death; Precisely when most had abandoned the teacher.
San José and San Nicodemo, with their actions, publicly demonstrated their deep gratitude with Jesus, for whom they received a “new life.”
