“Six years ago they began the siege, the harassment, with bells that did not ring of a party, but of death, murder, torture, barbarism, pain, how can we forget it! (…) Bells of decadence then, and they cried out, like vampires, for blood, with the viciousness of those who hide poison behind the manipulation of biblical messages, and the stupidity of their own cowardice,” said Murillo.
On social networks, various Internet users remembered the repression of the dictatorship with the hashtag #AbrilNoSeOlvida.
Felix Maradiagaformer political prisoner and president of the Freedom for Nicaragua Foundation, noted that “Nicaraguan Freedom Day (April 18 in Miami) is a powerful reminder of the civic protests of April 2018 and reinforces our firm commitment to seeking justice for the crimes committed by the Sandinista dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.”
