Rodrigo Battaglia’s defiant celebration after upsetting San Lorenzo and qualifying Atlético Mineiro in the Copa Libertadores

The Argentinian Rodrigo Battaglia tThere was a very particular celebration in the goal of Atlético Mineiro ante San Lorenzo and he did not forget his past in Hurricane. While many of his teammates celebrated hugging each other, the midfielder began to simulate that he was blowing up a balloon, bringing into the LIbertadores game the Argentine folklore of the biggest neighborhood classic in the world.

Rodrigo Battaglia always identified with Huracán, a club in which he played youth and made his debut in the First Division in 2010, although he is a native of Ciudadela, in the Tres de Febrero match.

Before arriving at the Globe he passed through Vélez and Almagro. In the Parque de los Patricios club he played until 2013, he was free and went on loan with the transfer in his possession to Racing in the second half of that year.

From the Academy he was transferred to Sporting Braga in Portugal and then to Moreirense. In 2016 he returned to the country to play for Rosario Central and immediately emigrated again to Portugal first (Chaves and Sporting Lisboa) and to Spain later (Alavés and Mallorca). He has been at Atlético Mineiro since 2023.
