Father Hayen considers that, by observing the negative effects of sex outside of marriage, it is clear that this action constitutes “a mortal sin” and, therefore, “the Body of Christ should not be received in that state.”
However, remember that in order to take communion “there must be, in the person, a true struggle to get out of this atmosphere of sin.”
“It is not recommended to confess immediately after falls, as it could result in a trivialization of the sacrament. Is there hope of recovering the emotional glue? Of course. The most advisable thing is to go to a spiritual director who can guide the person so that, in Christ, they can heal their emotions. Nothing is impossible for God,” she concludes.
