Other dangers that generate the lack of formation in the faithful are “4) Not living the faith in public, 5) increase in abortion, euthanasia, free union and equal marriage; 6) the decline in fertility and 7) materialism.”
To avoid these dangers, the priest encourages all Catholics to form, specifically through catechesis.
Catechesis, explains the Catechism of the Catholic Church, has as its main mission the transmission of faith.
Numeral 5 of the document explains that “catechesis is an education in the faith of children, young people and adults, which especially includes a teaching of Christian doctrine, generally given in an organic and systematic way with a view to initiating them into the fullness of the Christian life.
In this sense, the Catechism of the Catholic Church also points out that catechesis “aims to present an organic and synthetic exposition of the essential and fundamental contents of Catholic doctrine, both on faith and morals, in the light of the Council.” Vatican II and the entire Tradition of the Church.”
For this reason, “its main sources are the Holy Scripture, the holy Fathers, the Liturgy and the Magisterium of the Church.”
