The president of the Catholic NGO “Smiles of Faith”, Jonathan Hergueta, has been distinguished as a professional of the year in Social Action in the prestige Awards organized by Corporate Livewire in the United Kingdom, an organization specialized in the assessment of institutional projects.
As explained in a statement from the NGO, whose central headquarters are in Oviedo, in northern Spain, this award “highlights its commitment to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people, through their organization, from which it undertakes and leads social, humanitarian and evangelization projects.”

Faith smiles develop from 2020 projects in about 25 countries Of the five continents related to offering free education for hospitalized minors, accompaniment to adults in a situation of unwanted solitude or international humanitarian aid.
“This recognition is an opportunity to make visible the work we do, especially to highlight how necessary it is to help before human fragility. And, certainly make known that everything we do from the organization is thank God, who guides us in each step,” Hergueta said in the statement.
Before this award, smiles of faith has been highlighted as the third best Spanish organization in humanitarian crisis management, according to the ranking of the non -profit techsoup organization.
She was also awarded as a social action organization of Corporate Livewire.
In recent years, Hergueta has developed a special effort in Ukraine and Myanmar “to offer refuge and logistical support to thousands of displaced people” performing mediation efforts.
In addition, he has promoted programs focused on education and mental health from an evangelizing perspective.
