Pope Leo XIV asked the faithful to pray during the month of June to “grow in compassion for the world.”

In continuity with the path drawn by Pope Francis, Leo XIV invited the faithful to pray for this special intention, already scheduled in the previous pontificate.
However, unlike Pope Francis, the voice of the Pontiff is heard today, without his image appearing.
“We pray for each of us to find comfort in the personal relationship with Jesus, and learn from his heart the compassion for the world,” says Leo XIV.
Next, the Jesuit Cristóbal Fones, director of the World Prayer Network for the Pope appears in the video, who leaves a candle on “click to pray” at the foot of an image of the sacred heart.
Meanwhile, this prayer is heard:
Lord, today I come to your tender heart,
To you that you have words that light mine,
to you that you spill compassion on the little ones and the poor,
on those who suffer and over all human misery.
I want to know you more, contemplate you in the Gospel,
be with you
And of the love with which you let yourself be played
For all forms of poverty.
You showed us the father’s love loving us without measure
With your divine and human heart.
Give all your children the grace of the encounter with you.
Change, mold and transform our plans,
so that we only look for you in each circumstance:
in prayer, at work, in the meetings and in our daily routine.
And from this meeting, send us on a mission;
A mission of compassion for a world
in which you are the source of where all consolation flows.

What is the world prayer network of the Pope?
The world prayer network, according to its websiteit is a “pontifical work, which has as a mission to mobilize Catholics by prayer and action, given the challenges of humanity and the mission of the Church.
