Pope Leo XIV spends Tuesday for the second consecutive week in Castel Gandolfo

Pope Leo XIV has passed this Tuesday for the second consecutive week in the residence of Villa Barberini, in Castel Gandolfo, as confirmed by Matteo Bruni, director of the press office of the Holy See.

Like last week, the Pontiff arrived on Monday night to this historic Villa, located about thirty kilometers southeast of Rome, and is expected to return to the Vatican tonight.

During the morning, the Pope received at his holiness Karekin II, Patriarch Supreme and Catholic of all Armenians, a meeting that reflects the continuous efforts of the Holy See to strengthen ecumenical dialogue.

In the photographs released by the Vatican Press Office, the Pontiff is seen with the Delegation in the Great Balcony of Villa Barberini, the Pontifical Residence where it was also housed in July and August.

After the 12 years of Francisco’s pontificate, in which the property of Castel Gandolfo remained in disuse, the Vatican renewed Villa Barberini – the palace that Leon now occupies – and restored the pool that San Juan Paul II used during his vacation.

Tuesday is traditionally considered as rest day for potatoes, and it seems that Leo XIV prefers to spend this day in this magnificent natural environment surrounded by gardens.
