Pope Leo XIV names a new bishop of Tepic, Mexico

Pope Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Mons. Luis Artemio Flores Calzada, 76, to the pastoral government of the Diocese of Tepic, Nayarit (Mexico), and appointed as his successor Mons. Engelberto Polino Sánchez, until now auxiliary bishop of Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The CEM expressed its gratitude for “the Episcopal Ministry performed by Mons. Luis Artemio in the Diocese of Tepic”, while expressed the “joy and prayer” of the Mexican bishops for the designation of Mons.
