Specifying that it was not his intention to “offend” anyone, Leo XIV answered: “When one asks how a process can help us, inspire us… I have rarely felt inspired by a process in my life. I feel inspired by people who live enthusiastically in faith.”
The Jubilee is an invitation to conversion
“Everyone has come in these days as synodal teams, but to live the jubilee, and I think it is very important to understand that the jubilee is an invitation to conversion, reconciliation and the new life that we receive from Jesus Christ,” stressed the Holy Father, who thanked the work of these groups after the Synod of Synodality, whose world sessions were held in 2023 and 2024 in the Vatican, and in which He also participated as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops.
The Pope highlighted the importance of living “the spirituality of the gospel, of communion, of wanting to be the Church. These are aspects that can really inspire us to continue being the Church, building paths of inclusion, inviting many more, everyone, to accompany us to walk with us.”
“I think that very fundamental in all of this is that we all live an authentic conversion, that we discover it in our hearts,” he stressed.

Pope Leo XIV: The Church has to be grateful to Latin America
In his response, Pope Leo also considered that “the Church has to be very grateful for so many things that we have learned from Latin America, the gift of faith, enthusiasm and the spirit of communion that in many cases is part of the same culture of peoples who are traditionally very united.”
“They have turned this gift of communion, of fraternity, brothers and sisters, into an experience that is expressed very well in the Church and that teaches many of us to continue on an authentically synodal path,” highlighted the Holy Father.
