The Archbishop of Lima and Primado del Peru, Cardinal Carlos Castillo, announced this Sunday that next weekend he will take Chiclayo – a day of which Bishop Robert Prevost was – the folder of the voting of the conclave that chose Pope Leo XIV, as “relic of the most beautiful event we have lived in recent times.”
In his homily Of the Mass he presided this Sunday in the cathedral of Lima, the cardinal made votes so that “God bless us and accompany us in this national month (July) and that we go with joy to testify to proximity.”

“We are going to do this a little in the visit that we will do on the weekend, on July 19 at night, to our sister Diocese of Chiclayo,” the purple continued.
In Chiclayo, Cardinal Castillo reported, “we are going to deliver that document we brought, the folder where we did the scrutiny and we will leave it as a relic of the most beautiful event that we have lived in recent times: the choice of our Pope Leo XIV” ..
At a press conference held on May 25, a few days after the election of Pope León as successor of San Pedro, Cardinal Castillo presented the red folder to the media with the coat of the vacant headquarters, where the voting of the conclave was recorded.
That day, the cardinal said that the folder would be preserved, until its delivery in Chiclayo, on the altar of Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo in the Cathedral of Lima.
