“Pope Francis has rested all night. He has not presented febrile episodes, ”said the official statement of the Holy See, adding that the exams carried out during the day confirmed the presence of“ an infection in the airways ”.

According to the medical update, “the therapy has been slightly modified based on the new microbiological findings,” although laboratory analysis shows “the improvement in some values”, which suggests a favorable evolution of their health status.

During the morning, the Pontiff “has received the Holy Eucharist, and then has alternated the rest with prayer and reading,” adds the statement.
