“Let us also give thanks for our parents, who took us to the baptismal font, for the one who administered the sacrament to us, for the godfather, for the godmother, for the community in which we received it. Celebrate your own baptism: it is a new birthday,” he stated.
“And we can ask ourselves: am I aware of the immense gift that I carry in me through baptism? Do I recognize in my life the light of the presence of God, who sees me as his beloved son, as his beloved daughter?
Pope Francis also encouraged that “in memory of our baptism, we welcome the presence of God within us. We can do this with the sign of the cross, which traces in us the memory of the grace of God, who loves us and desires to be with us. The sign of the cross reminds us of this. Let’s do it together: In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
