The Archbishop of Catania and president of the organizing committee of the event, Mons. Luigi Renna, also highlighted the “multiethnic” character of the city that the Holy Father will visit, where “participation in democratic life will be discussed on the 75th anniversary of the Constitution “Italian.”
For his part, the Bishop of Trieste, Bishop Enrico Trievisi, invited the faithful to prepare “with prayer to catch it and to make it a moment in which we reinforce our participation in the construction of our ecclesial and civil community.”
“We are on the periphery of Italy, that is, on the border that leads us to encounter other peoples and cultures. It is like an invitation to be willing to communicate and witness to the evangelical message of peace and justice that the Pope spreads on every occasion,” the prelate remarked.
