The Dicastery for the Causes of Saints reported that Pope Francis will canonize Mama Antula on February 11, who will become the first Argentine saint.
In a statement published this December 16, the Dicastery indicated that “after the usual consultation of the College of Cardinals, the Holy Father Francis decided to proceed with the canonization of Blessed María Antonia de San José (born: María Antonia De Paz y Figueroa), known as Mama “Antula.”
In that sense, Pope Francis “established that the Rite of Canonization will be celebrated on February 11, 2024, the VI Sunday in Ordinary Time and the anniversary of the first appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lourdes.”
