Pope Francis addressed the children of the world on the occasion of the first World Children’s Day, which will be celebrated in Rome from May 25 to 26, to remind them that the key to happiness is prayer and a personal relationship with Christ. .
“To be truly happy it is necessary to pray, pray a lot, every day, because prayer connects us directly with God, fills our hearts with light and warmth and helps us do everything with confidence and serenity,” he wrote in his letter of March 2 aimed at the children of the world.
The Pope continued this reflection by asking children to pray the Lord’s Prayer “every morning and every afternoon, and also as a family, with their parents, brothers, sisters and grandparents.” But he urged the children not to simply recite the words “as a formula,” but “thinking about the words Jesus has taught us.”
