Pope Francis called by phone on Saturday, February 3, Sister. Paësie, a French missionary who has dedicated practically her entire life to caring for street children in Port-au-Prince (Haiti).
As reported Vatican Newsthe Holy Father made surprise contact with the nun to express his support and take an interest in the situation of the more than 2,500 children without resources who are under his care.
“When my phone rang, I obviously didn’t expect it to be the Holy Father,” said Sr. Paësie to the official media of the Vatican. She also said that the Pontiff conveyed a message of encouragement to her, thanked her for her closeness to the children and also assured her of her prayers.
