This Monday, Pope Francis received Alberto Fernández, former president of Argentina who concluded his mandate in December 2023, in a private audience.
Fernández shared on his X account (formerly Twitter) who attended the audience with the Holy Father accompanied by his little son Francisco, “to thank him for everything he helped and helps Argentina.” Her partner, Fabiola Yáñez, close to the Holy Father due to her participation in Meeting Schoolscould not travel because she underwent surgery.
The audience between the Pontiff and the former president took place on Monday morning in the Private Library on the second floor of the Apostolic Palace. During his mandate, Alberto Fernández had visited the Pope twice: once in January 2020 and another in May 2021.
