Pope Francis message from the hospital: I continue with confidence with my hospitalization at the Gemelli

Pope Francis, who has been admitted to the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome for ten days, wanted to share with the faithful a message of hope about his recovery during the Angelus this Sunday.

“I continue with confidence with my hospitalization in the Gemelli, following the necessary treatments,” said the Holy Father in a message released by the Vatican Press Office on the occasion of the Marian prayer, although he could not preside over it because he continues in A critical medical situation.

Vatican sources confirmed that, after the prolonged respiratory crisis that suffered this Saturday, the Holy Father continues to need the use of two small cannulas that are introduced by both nostrils with oxygen.

Yesterday’s official medical bulletin explained that, in addition to the respiratory crisis, he needed a blood transfusion to counteract the platelet fall associated with anemia.

In his message sent to the Marian prayer, Pope Francis also stressed the importance of rest in his recovery process: “Also rest is part of the therapy!” He said, while thanking the medical staff of attention and the care you receive.

“I sincerely thank the doctors and the health personnel of this hospital for the dedication with which they carry out their service among the sick,” said the pontiff, hospitalized since February 14.

Pope Francis also referred to the jubilee of the deacons and in, concrete, to the Mass this morning in the Basilica of San Pedro in which 23 new permanent deacons were ordered.
