Pope Francis: Life is always worth living

Pope Francis published a hopeful message on the social network X, highlighting that life “is always worth living” and that God “never abandons us.”

“Life is always worth living, there is always hope for the future, even when it seems that everything is going out,” the Holy Father stressed.

Furthermore, he reiterated that “our existence is a unique gift, both for ourselves and for others” and stated that “God never abandons us; What’s more, he knows how to listen, rejoice and cry with us.”

The Holy Father has highlighted on numerous occasions throughout his Pontificate the value of human dignity.

In August 2016 he dedicated his catechesis during a General Audience to reflect on the dignity of people, and has often exhorted Catholics to especially value that of the poor and needy.

It should be remembered that Pope Francis expressly asked the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) to prepare a document on this fundamental topic.

For this reason, in April of this year the Vatican published the document Infinite dignity, in which it warns of 13 serious violations of human dignity.

Nor is it the first time that the Holy Father reminds the faithful that Jesus “never abandons us.” This is what he stated during the angelus prayer on June 23rd.

From the window of the Apostolic Palace of the Vatican, the Pontiff assured that “Jesus does not spare us setbacks but, without ever abandoning us, he helps us face them.”

He has also repeatedly highlighted the importance of maintaining hope despite today’s difficulties and challenges.

This is what he stated at the celebration of Second Vespers of the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord in May of this year, when he declared that we all need hope, especially “in a world marked by excess of despair.”
