On the morning of this Friday, April 12, Pope Francis received in audience the members of the Papal Foundationto whom he reminded the importance of spending time in prayer and in “the presence of the Lord.”
Created in 1988, the Papal Foundation explains on their website whose mission is to “serve the Holy Father and the Roman Catholic Church” in the charitable needs that exist in the world, which include the training of priests, religious and lay people; aid to Catholic shelters and health facilities; pro-life programs; care for elderly priests and religious; and shelters for homeless adults and children.
At the beginning of his speech, the Holy Father thanked this foundation for its support of various educational, charitable and apostolic projects, favoring the integral development of many, including “the poor, refugees, emigrants and people affected by war and violence.”
