Pope Francis has stressed that gender ideology is “extremely dangerous” and a threat to peace “threatened, weakened and partly lost” during his speech to the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See, in which he reviewed the main war conflicts taking place in the world, with special mention of the war in the Holy Land between the terrorist group Hamas and Israel and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Referring to the threats, the Pope stated that “peace requires respect for human rights, according to the simple but clear formulation contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, whose 75th anniversary we recently celebrated.”
For the Pontiff, they are “rationally evident and commonly accepted” principles that are being threatened by “the attempts that have occurred in recent decades to introduce new rights, not entirely compatible with those originally defined and not always acceptable.”
