Pope Francis explains what we should do when we are sad

The Pontiff assured that “we all go through trials that make us sad, because life makes us conceive dreams that later shatter” and pointed out that “in this situation, some, after a time of turmoil, rely on hope; but others wallow in melancholy.”

“Certain prolonged sadnesses, in which a person continues to magnify the emptiness of someone who is no longer there, are not typical of life in the Spirit,” warned Pope Francis, who explained this type of feeling as “the pleasure of non-pleasure.” ”.

Along these lines, he highlighted that “certain resentful bitterness, in which a person always has a claim in mind that makes him adopt the guise of a victim, does not produce in us a healthy life, and even less a Christian one.”
