Pope Francis explained that “it begins by asking that they be looked at with compassion, with the gaze of God, knowing how to distinguish their faces from their defects.”
Likewise, he highlighted that “we have the habit of classifying people with the mistakes they make. This is not good”. For this reason, he invited us to look for people “by their faces, by their hearts, and not by their mistakes.”
Finally, he indicated that “to cultivate patience, a virtue that gives breath to life, it is advisable to broaden our perspective.”
“For example, not limiting the world to our problems, as the Imitation of Christ invites us to do, which says: ‘It is necessary, therefore, that you remember the most serious sufferings of others, so that you learn to endure yours, little ones’, remembering that ‘There is nothing, no matter how small, that is endured for the love of God, that passes without reward before God’ (III, 19).”
